First Supper: Stat(u)es of Liberty
2020 · 1/1 · AsyncArt

The Genesis Work
First Supper is AsyncArt piece #0 — the very first programmable artwork ever minted on the platform, and one of the most significant collaborative works in the history of crypto art.
Thirteen artists. One canvas. Infinite possible states.
The concept is both simple and radical: each artist contributed an autonomous layer to a shared composition. Like the figures arranged around da Vinci’s table, each participant occupies their own space — but the meaning only emerges when they are seen together. Unlike the Last Supper, however, this gathering celebrates a beginning, not an end. A new dawn for what art can be when artists, collectors, and technology collaborate.
We, cryptoartists, gather in this place to celebrate a new dawn for collaboration, creativity, and interaction between artist, collector, and art-lover alike. We hold these tokens to be self-evident, that all layers are created uniquely by individual artists, that each is endowed by their creator with specific immutable rights; that among these are state, rotation, scale, XY position, visibility, opacity, hue, and RGB. That whenever a token holder desires, it is their sole privilege to alter the value of these rights and constitute a new image.
My Layer: Stat(u)es of Liberty
The figure deals with the question of liberty on different levels. What does liberty mean today? Who can help us achieve or defend it? Rather ai, Anonymous or just magick?
